Free MP3s on Baidu to listen online and download

There is a large amount of music available on-line from the Chinese search engine giant Baidu.com a Chinese equivalent to Google.  Once you search MP3 titles, artists or find the latest top 100, 200 or 500 song you can listen to the full MP3 song on-line and then download the whole song for free.  Some other formats available are wmv, wav, video ‘rm’, flash movies. If you know how to type Chinese you can search for some other world music like African, Quebecois, Japanese, Korean etc. but searching in English does not often reveal good results.  Here are some instructions on how to search for MP3s on Baidu.

1. Goto Baidu.com

2. Click on “Mp3″ it is the only English available and type a song title, artist or general category.

Try copying and pasting these into the search bar:

王非 Wang Fei

广东音乐 Guangdong music

云南音乐 Yunnan Music

非洲音乐 African Music

Try "魁北克音乐" Quebecois Music and see what you get!

3. If you don’t have anything in particular that you want to search for then click on the “Top 100″, “Top 200″ or “Top 500″ links .

4. A new window will open and every page afterwards will be in Chinese.

5. Next page will list a list of song titles and artists in Chinese, just click one and a new window will open. These are the column headings numerically numbered from “1″ on the far left side of the window:

“歌曲名” title of song

“歌手名” name of the artist

“专辑名” album, record

“试听” listen

“歌词” the lyrics if available

“铃声” listen online different player

“大小” the file size

“格式” is the type of file

“链接速度” a green bar is the health of the file.

6. If you want to download an MP3 click on the “试听” listen text link and a new window will pop up and depending on how fast your internet connection is the song will play.
