Yulin dialect

The Yulin dialect is a branch of of the Guangdong dialect (Cantonese). The Yulin dialect is spoken in southwest China Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in Yulin city and surroundings. It is interesting to note the differences between similar words. Take the word “come” in hanyu or mandarin it is 来了 lai le in pin yin pronounced /lai la/; in the Guandong dialect it is /lei/; while in the Yulin dialect it is pronounced /loi la/. It seems to me that the Vancouver Olympics is going to be one of the most un-welcomed events. I certainly hope so. I think it is disgusting to see that Vancouver Olympic committee chose the inukshuk for their Olympic symbol. I least I am sure it is and I believe this is also used as Nunavut’s flag.
