Food Inspectors

Today is my last weekend in Taiwan and what do I do? spend my time in an internet bar like everyone else does. As I was returning from buying some brushes I noticed a police officer with a camera and a notepad on hand looking at a local restaurant. Food inspector I assume? I noticed he was commenting on the restaurants cooking facilities or something. I wonder how much American ideas of sanitation have destroyed Chinese culture in Taiwan and how much of Mainland culture will be eroded away in the coming years. Is it really dirty? what is dirty? I wonder if different cultures have differing views as to what cleanliness is?
