Nishimura Memorial Park

Nishimura Memorial Park commemorates an honorary citizen, former Liberal-Democratic Party vice-chairman Hideichi Nishimura.The honorary monument is made from black granite from Africa and is 4.5m high 2m wide and 45cm thick. The calligraphy is an epitaph written by former cabinet Prime Minister Tanaka. The funeral was April 11th 1985 .

South Shore Park

Directly opposite the ferry terminal is “ Minami Hama Park ” ( South Shore Park ). The bronze statue in the park was built in honor of the late Mayor of Himeshima Mr. Fujimoto. The governor of Oita prefecture Mr. Hiramatsu wrote the epitaph. The funeral was held October 28th 1985 .
